Embracing Imperfection: Bold Enough to Create?

We’ve all felt it at some point—that gnawing fear of imperfection, the little devil inside us insisting that if we can’t be perfect, we shouldn’t try. And if we do? WE BETTER DAMN SUCCEED.

It’s easy to be consumed by the fear of potential judgment shadowing every imperfect attempt. Despite knowing ‘hard work leads to success’ we wonder why ours can’t just work its magic really quick?! We want to avoid the embarrassment that we might feel along the way. Yes, I’m talking to you too.

We reassure ourselves with thoughts like “I’ve only just started”, “others are too busy in themselves to notice me”, We convince ourselves that everyone began where we are now, and that eventually, success will come.

Let me burst your bubble: despite society’s relentless push for perfection and comparison, you’re not meant to excel at everything, and not everything needs to be flawless. Engaging in activities or hobbies isn’t about achieving perfection; it’s about embracing the journey, with all its stumbles and imperfections. It’s about stepping back from life’s pressures to recharge, being fully present, and giving yourself the freedom to be imperfect.

Allow yourself to just be, to just live life the way it was meant to be lived. Then, even if it leads to a botched-up painting, imperfect dance, wobbly vase, or an off-pitch note- let it be a testament to your courage to try, to have fun, and to express yourself in a world that too often demands flawlessness.

It’s not about being perfect—it’s about being brave enough to create.
